Julia Sandoval
Julia became a member of our team in mid 2013. She leads the taxation practice in the firm. Julia advises parties in cross-border transactions, such as M&A and multi-jurisdictional contracts, of the fiscal aspects and obligations. She is also knowledgeable of labor regulations and procedures, as well as environmental law. Moreover, Julia manages the pro bono services at the firm in support of the social entrepreneurship movement.
She speaks fluid Spanish, English, and French.
Recent Work
- Julia recently participated in the due diligence processes of several cross-border M&A transactions in different sectors of the economy. She was actively involved in evaluating the level of compliance of the target company in the tax, labor, and environmental areas.
- She has assisted companies that operate in free trade zones and other special tax regimes to comply with the applicable regulations and obtain their tax exemptions. Furthermore, she regularly assists nonprofit organization to procure the different tax benefits they are entitled to.
- Julia recently advised the parties of a transnational franchise agreement about the most convenient tax structure and the tax implications of the agreement
